| A brief introduction to Lintong District
The Lintong District of Xian lies in the Guanzhong Basin. It is the “East Door” of ancient city of Xi’an. Linhe and Tonghe rivers run across the District, hence its name Lintong. From Zhou, Qin to Sui and Tang dynasties, Lintong had always been in environs of the capital city of Chang’an. The District covers an area of 894 square kilometers with a population over 600,000. It boasts 62 key historical sites designed for protection. Among them are . of Jiangzai primitive village, the ruins of beacon tower of Zhou dynasty, Emperor Qin Shihuang’s mausoleum, the Museum of Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Terra-cotta Warriors & Horses, ruins of “Hongmen” banquet, ruins of Tang Huaqing Palace, and site of “Xian Incident”. Many historical cultural ruins make their contribution to Lintong’s status as a world famous tourist destination.
